Make Sure Your Hotspot is ON

Before starting off any other troubleshoot process make sure your hotspot is ON. Here are the quick steps to turn on Hotspot on iPhone -

  • Settings > Personal Hotspot
  • Make Sure Allow Others to Join is turned on by swiping the button to the right

Check For Carrier Settings Update

To increase the phone's capability for better network coverage Apple releases regular carrier settings update. To check for carrier settings updates go to Settings > General > About.

If a carrier settings update is available a pop-up message will appear in about 10-15 secs and if no pop-up is available then the carrier settings update is probably unavailable.

Update iOS On Your Phone

iOS 7 or later all have the personal hotspot, you just need to check with your carrier operator for the plan. Keep your phone up to date as not doing so will result in software glitches and make slow working the iPhone. To update your phone, tap on General > Software update to check for a new iOS update is available.

Contact Your Wireless Carrier

If the hotspot is not working there may be a problem with iPhone hardware or carrier plan. Contact your wireless carrier for a plan update and if this doesn't work get in touch with the nearest Apple Store.
